I'm not sure it'll be all that great, but I'm curious anyway.

Master and Margarita reference...

...can be found in the film, The Daytrippers. Liev Schreiber plays Parker Posey's boyfriend, a would-be writer whose novel, just completed, features a protagonist with a dog's head. He then goes on a riff about a couple of other books with "stretched" realism, including Master/Margarita.

best translation / edition?

m&m's been on my read list for a while now, and i think im ready to jump in. can anyone recommend or warn against any of the myriad editions available? (a quick search on the ubiquitious amazon beast suggested three different editions)

Time to re-read the book

I picked up the book at a friend's recommendation, and found it extremely puzzling about half way through. I did no prior research other than my knowledge of the Rolling Stones' "Sympathy for the Devil."

Now that I've done some research, I plan on picking it up again.

Any ideas on websites or primers for the novel?
